JAKARTA – Director General of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Andi Noorsaman Sommeng confirmed that the Government still subsidizes 27 million PLN subscribers.
“27 million PLN customers consist of 23 million household customers 450 volts Ampere and 4 million customers 900 VA. So, the government until now still subsidize 27 customers, “said Andi when met at the office of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jakarta, Tuesday (30/5).
Furthermore, Andi said, for 900 VA subscribers who are still getting subsidy based on the category of poor and poor households and can not afford to continue to be given a subsidy.
Based on the integrated data of the special poor handling program established by the Minister of Social Affairs through Minister of Social Decree No.23 / HUK / 2016, there are only 4.1 million poor and underprivileged households and still subsidized through “subsidized rates”.
As for households with other 900 va capable, which are not covered in the integrated data of the poorer handling program, no longer are given subsidized tariffs.
To note, the 900 VA household class of households amounted to approximately 19 million subscribers. Consequently, the Power 900 VA customer of this capable society will enforce a gradual increase every two months, the first phase of January 1, the second phase of March 1, and the final phase of May 1, 2017.
